About Us

Shades of Brown is Davidson College's first and only step team organization. It was founded February 7, 2002 by Marc O. Vinson (Class of 2005). Although the organization is relativelty young and new on campus it has grown dramatically in size and popularity over the years. Shades of Brown prides itself on diversity, not only by attracting a diverse audience but also by being a diverse form of expression in of itself. We perform at various events on Davidson College's campus and also in the Davidson community, such as Wildcat Welcome Week, Discover Davidson, Decision Davidson, Live Thursdays, and Dance Ensemble.
